So, I did really expect to be writing this today(at the time I started writing this), but I reallise as a game dev, I might need to answer questions like things that are in the title. It was mostly inspired by watching these 2 videos by one of my biggest inspirations, From Soy Sauce(which came out September last year): I do recommend you watch both videos for some insight.(And play the Glass Wing Retold demo because it's REALLY GOOD). But it got me thinking: is "Oversexualised" character and character designs a problem in the games industry? Personally I don't think so. While some characters are often made for pure fan service(Looking at you Luoca) I honestly don't mind "oversexualised" characters are ok as long as they are written and portrayed well. As for designing characters in that way... I honestly don't mind. Games are not real, and I see the worlds of games having their own rules. Basically, real world not equal to a game's world(I know there will always be exceptions to the rule for me, e.g. Life Is Strange(besides the time travel)) and as such I really don't think that world apply our rules. However, I want to do what Sayuri did, in order to widen my horizon. I am going to look up the word "Oversexualised video game characters" and see what I get. Because I do my blog at school sometimes, this is why I am searching up "Oversexualised video game characters". Also this part might be NSFW, and haven't played all of the games the characters are from. So, let's start. Lara Croft? This is not even old Lara(Considering her... top half(the most non NSFW way I can put it)it would at least make sense), this is Survivor timeline Lara. How and why? Is it because of the Top? She IS a hunter, and in the context of the survivor timeline, was left on an island. I believe these are alt costumes for Juliet Starling from Lollipop Chainsaw. She is a cheerleader right? She would be a more confident(or from what I've seen, she just doesn't care) in wearing a lot these costumes. I had a feeling you would show up. For anyone that doesn't know who this is, this Ivy from Soul Calibur. I know this sounds very, VERY shallow, but I like design because it looks cool. I don't play Soul Calibur, so that might be a reason for the shallowness. However, this brings me to another point. Sometime the best route to make things look cool is the easiest. Making characters "Oversexualised" can make the character look badass. Bayo was going to come up at some point to. I have see a lot of both Bayonetta Games, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't give a damn either way. Also she is portrayed a bit like a hooker, right? But enough of that. So, from this, I have learned that "Oversexualised" is: -Skintight Latex(Bayo/Lara/Juliet) -Bondage Gear(Ivy) -Hyperexarrated Boobs and/or Butt(Ivy/Bayo) But honestly, I don't mind either way. I understand the points of feminists and saying that characters like this are made for the male gaze, but honestly, I don't care. Context is very important when it comes to some situation in games. And if not, you may find a character attractive for the right/wrong reasons. Anyways that's it! Next Gameworks will be back to the usual. Let me know what you think of this! Should I do more?

NM Gameworks #08: How I make a Demo Reel11/4/2018 Hey Everyone! Today I wanted you guys to to know how I make my Demo Reels/ShowReels. This is not going to do into too much detail, but I do expect you too know a few keythings such as what renders are, what in engine footage is and, so on. The first(and in my opinion, always first) thing you should do, is choose the music. This is key to me because it sets the tone for what you are going to be showing. The first 2 I have done(Check out my YouTube Channel if you want to see them), were more about showing off my first small projects, and first game in terms of the second one. I chose Lightning's Theme's to give a more gracious vibe to this demo reel. The main thing I wanted to show off was my updated character controller(using rigidbody physics instead of the Unity Character Controller) as well as some rigging setups and hair physics. I like my content to flow with the music, in order to make up for not have any special effects in my video edits. Because I tend to use a lot the same models, it is easy to show improvement, and I also have some projects that are exactly the same. This time, I also added some footage of me working, to show the process of how I use node setups, lighting setup, and so on. This is a big thing for this demo reel in particular, because of the fact that there a lot of work required is unseen, and I wanted to show it off in this case. Because of all of this, I can say this is the most stress inducing thing I have ever done. Anyways, it's here for you all to watch! Please give me some feedback, I would love to improve. Furthermore, I have started using character creation programs to create characters! I am currently using Manual Bastoni and MakeHuman. which both have their problems. Manual Bastoni doesn't allow me to use characters that under 18(not good for me, I want to work with 15-16 year old characters), and MakeHuman takes a while to figure out. I haven't made anything in Manual Bastoni, but It took me a day to make something even quarter decent in MakeHuman.(Warning:Pictures below maybe not safe for work). I want to apologise the lack of content recently. School has kept me busy, as well as life. I also haven't been watching anime due to the busyness, so there's that. It should be over by June, so I will be more consistent in the summer!

Haikyuu!Season 1:First Impressions5/4/2018 A big thank you to RainingCation on Twitter for recommending this anime, since I have never watched a sports anime before. Rules as always: 1.Spoilers are abounding here folks. If you want to watch it blindly... go watch it. Spoilers are here. 2. Depending on the Anime, this can get NSFW. 3. I am watching the subbed version. This is my first impressions of Haikyuu! Season 1. A tall, tall wall stands in front of me. What's on the other side? Hinata Shoyo is a 3rd year short middle school kid who has a real heart on for volleyball. He formed a team in his middle school that do quite share the same passion for the sport that he does, and he wants to win the championship with this team. However, they are up against the the people known as the kings of the sport Kitagawa Daiichi school, and their leader Kagayama Tobio. Gotta say, I don't like the OP/ED themes, I don't feel either of them flow. The opening doesn't really have a hype vibe. The ending is better, but I feel it's too fast for it's own good. Anyways, let's move on. Shoyo and his team have been thrused into the first match against Kita-Ishi, and they get their asses kicked, while we go through flasbacks on how Shoyo got to this point. However, Shoyo makes an impression on Tobio after going for an impossible shot. After that, Shoyo vows to surpass Tobio. After another training montage(from junior to high school) this happens: And that's about it. The pace of the episode of was weird since we were watching the game during the flashbacks, and it came off as odd. The charaters were kept me engaged for a majorty of the episode, as you can clearly see their motivations, esphally Shoyo. Overall, I don't really know what to think of this first episode. It feels a bit distjointed as you can tell from my much shortened description(well shorter than usual) of the episode. I will still continue this, it's just not high on the priority list.

Project M: First Impressions24/3/2018 Man, I'm on a Final Fantasy high at the moment. I am playing XIII, which has one of my favourite heroines, finally started XV, which has extreme combat that I adore, watched Advent Children, and have just Started Chrius Core. So when I came across this fan series created by ureshiii, a big name in the MMD community, I thought, why not? She is also making new episodes, so if your interested, click her name, and watch some of her stuff. I recommend the SHIVER MV, it's really good. But enough rambling. This is my first impressions of Project M Spoilers(Maybe for the VII series of games as well) are here folks, so watch episode 1 right now: Now Kiss! This is the reaction of everybody favorite dead hero, Zack Fair when he sees Sephiroth, the one winged angel before he fell from grace(this takes place around the events of Crisis Core), and newcomer Emily pining for each other during a training exercise. For the record, Emily is a girl who surprisingly isn't a female Cloud. Cloud is in this, just not the first episode. Yes I watched episode 2 of this. This is FIRST IMPRESSIONS though. Anyways, Zack tells Emily that they are to meet in a bar, which Sephiroth was going to do, but forgot. This is what happens when you try to romance your students! And that's it really. Not much happens in this first episode, but I still enjoyed, even if I haven't played Final Fantasy VII. The characters do seem a bit uninteresting besides Zack, but I put that on my lack of FFVII knowledge and this being the first episode. I do like the dialogue, feels very natural towards, especially Zach. I know enough about him to see the writing is accurate, and so is his voice. Speaking of, the voice acting is also really good, and the animation level is great. Especially if your Emily getting shanked in the ass! I am looking forward to this series, and where it could go. However, I would recommend playing Crisis Core before watching this, as it will help you understand certain characters.
Either way, thanks for reading, have a great day/night, share if it not too much trouble for you, and take care. Written by Nana Marfo Project M(Fan Series)(C)ureshiiii Crisis Core:Final Fantasy VII(C)Square Enix

I love Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. I felt the final arc was rushed due to the episode count, but I love the suits, story, characters, video game theme and you can not deny that the villains were some of the best Kamen Rider has ever seen. However, what we have here is a epilogue set after the events of the main series. Gamedeus is back? Hurricane Ninja? Another pandemic? What has happerend to our heroes? Rules: 1.Spoilers(and I'm talking series, not just the film this time) are abounding folkes. 2.I am watching TV-Nihon subs. That's it. Kamen Rider doesn't really get not safe for work, so let's jump into my first Toku review. This is my review of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid: True Ending. We begin with a look at Johnny Maxima, CEO of Machina Inc, and Kagenari Nagumo, or Kamen Rider Fuuma, looking for a test player to play their game for them. Let's talk Johnny Maxima for a bit. Maxima was shown in the last few episodes of Ex-Aid, as his company agreed to distribute Kamen Rider Chronicle worldwide(The game was only shown to distributed in Japan), if he got a game driver. However Masumane Dan had his own plans and had to stop the Riders. Of course, he was defeated, and Johnny was left hanging until now. Metal Gear jokes aside, Fuuma goes to the Hospital, where Emu is looking after a patent named Madoka, who is the test patent for the game Fuuma's game, Hurricane Ninja. Ex-Aid, Brave, Poppy and Snipe fight Fuuma and Greyfoxes, but all except Emu(Ex-Aid) are knocked out thanks to the ninja stars inserted. Poppy and Kirya(when he goes to the world) retain themselves due them being Bugsters, but Hiiro(why is his name not just Hiro) Taiga and Nico are now a part of the world. As such, Emu now has to go into that World thanks to Mighty Creator VRX and Kuroto D- I mean Neo Kuro- I mean God Kuroto Dan! Man, I can't keep up with this guy. Anyways, I like the Mighty Creator VRX suit. I really like the white, and the Chronos style and Voice really make this sound powerful. After Emu helps everyone escape the world, we move into the Gamedeus plot, where we found out that it was Johnny Machima along. He is even called Gamedeus Machina(Obvious Joke). After Madoka is given surgery(she is termally ill), Emu Defeats GameDeus, and to say this next part is not relevent, would be an understatement. Bulid shows up after Emu is called out to fight a sudden Bugster breakout, only for Bulid to gather his "supplement". More on that, when I get to Heisei Generations Final. The story is pretty basic, but it helps that the main rider films are only about an hour long, So the plot doesn't really drag on. However, this comes at a cost. Characters are given no development(which I don't mind since the series did tie up all the arcs well in my honest opinion), but I do like how Emu is given a lot of the focus, since he's not getting another movie to end off his character. Ex-Aid's fight is over. Speaking of Fights, HOT DAMN the action was good. I loved the Ninja fights, and Fuuma VS Mighty Creator. Overall, I enjoyed this film. While it wasn't the best Kamen Rider Summer film, everything it did do it did well(Besides the Bulid Cameo). And I will say this right now, if you are looking for somewhere to start, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid is a great place to start.

Hey everybody! So I was going to do the Fig Jam, but I have a lot going on at the moment, and I couldn't think of anything to go with the theme. School has also kept me busy, but I managed to start work on new learning project. I am calling it the extended project, which will help learn how to make combat systems that don't involve guns or FPS movement and HUD and UI features, as well as learning the Unity partical system. Keep an eye on my twitter for updates. In terms of my art work, I am slowly experimenting with different lighting set ups, in order to create better looking renders. I am really enjoying it so far, but I have to say, it is the hardest part of making renders, because god damn, it's hard. I am also slowing learning 3D modelling! Something I never though I could do. It's nice to get it out of the way, and the project I am doing it for is really helping me to learn how work in a team. Finally, I will say the script writing is going well, and ideas are flowing fast. I even have ideas on the charaters will wear. Next time, I will take you through my demo reel process, and test my VA skills.

My Hero Academia Season 1: Review2/3/2018 So, with the pressure of Maku and Tiff(In preparation for Season 3, somewhat), I binged this. And this being the first Shonen Jump Anime I have watched/review, was it good. But how good was it? Same rules as always: 1.Spoilers are abounding here folks. If you want to watch it blindly... go watch it. Spoilers are here. 2. Depending on the Anime, this can get NSFW. 3. I am watching the subbed version. This is my Review of My(Boku no) Hero Academia Season 1. So the story is a bit all over the place. After episode 1, where Deku meets All Might, we learn that he can only stay in that form(See picture for true form) for 2 hours due to an injury he sustained from a fight with a villain. He sort of puts Deku off his hero dream, but seeing him going to save Kacchan re-ignites the sparks in him. Because Deku showed that he had the courage, and will, All Might says that he is worthy to inherit his power. This is kinda of our prologue, and I like the start this gives us, but to say the pace gets jacked up, would be an understatement. After he says that, Deku goes on a training spree that allows him to become a vessel for All Might's quirk(All For One), however he can't really handle the power, because of the fact he is a rushed vessel. This is more than evident in the Hero Exam, where he breaks both his legs and his left arm, in order save a girl called Ochacko. He enters the school, does a few practical exams, meets a guy call Ieda, and not make it sound I'm skimming through things, but besides the Deku Vs Kacchan episode, nothing happens to advance the main story. Everything is more or less focused on Deku and All Might for obvious reasons. The other students class is given their moments, which I don't mind, but besides Iida, we don't learn anything besides their quirks. I am not saying that as a bad thing, mind you. They do have personality. Anyways, things begin to come to a head around episode 9, where villains let the press into the school to trigger a false alarm, then when the class goes to training they are in invading by villainy. Their leader Tomura Shigaraki, and his bio-engineered All Might rival, Nomu, search for All Might, who comes, but not before the students do a fantastic job defending themselves. Overall, the story is ok. Again the pace is a bit all over the place, and like I said before characters outside of Deku and All Might get little to no development. Again, with the wide cast I don't mind it, because they all have personalities, but I feel this is a consequence of the 13 episode season one, as season two has nearly double that amount. Deku himself is limited on the development he gets, as the show shifts development between Deku and All Might, with the hero getting a lot of the development over the rookie. However, he does learn courage, and I do like how his backstory contributes to his development. He can't really control his power, and I really want to see his courage, his determination and his passion to grow stronger. Speaking of strength, All Might is the best character in the show! His charater in his true form, to be honestly kinda of depressing. He says he smiles to trick the fear inside him, and as a hero, it shows. As All Might, he is bold and heroic, willing to help out anyone in a pinch. He needed help to see the bigger picture, as he was too focused on his time limit, his arc is really the main focus of the season. His battle with Nomu really highlighted that he is the Symbol of Peace. Speaking of, the shows animation level is secound to none. The style is more or less typical anime, and the fight scene are great to watch, but a bit too fast paced for my liking. Overall, I liked this anime. Not as much as others, but I think that might change from season 2 and beyond.

Tsuredure Children: Quick Look25/2/2018 So, I have been watching this, and it's been pretty fun. But is it a good high school anime? As always: 1.Spoilers are abounding here folks. If you want to watch it blindly... go watch it. 2. Depending on the Anime, this can get NSFW. This one has a lot of those moments, so be warned. 3. I am watching the subbed version. This a quick look at Tsuredure Children. So unlike Aho Girl, there is acually story to this, however, it is very segumented, as it uses the same format as Aho Girl. The problem with this is that some relationship stories are give more time others. The plot with Nanase is even dropped with no resultion! God damn it guys. Another one I thought was underdeveloped was the one with Furiya and Minagawa. However, I still enjoyed it, because Minagawa was such a troll. I loved the the texting episode, where she troll's Furuya's little sister, Hotaru! That was a moment I recommend you check out on the dub. In fact the dub is really good from the clips I've seen. However, it does let a few plots develop. My Personal Favorate is Chiaki and Kana, the comedy couple learning to love. Chiaki is such a dork, and it's so awesome to see that. Kana is very pushy on wanting them to kiss, and the moment they do, Kana... well, I won't spoil that little tid bit. Although they do try and have sex early on from their intro, which I know might be a culture thing... but it's still sorta weird. I also love Kamine and Goda, the complex couple that are learning to love. Goda is honestly how I would act with my girl friend, because I know women are complex, and if I do fall in love, I need to be careful of how I treat my loved one. It's nice seeing them learn what they want from each other. Sugawara and Takeono were also good. It says that Takono is dense, but I would say she is very naive rather, because she doesn't realise that Sugawara likes her, and vice versa. It's fun to see, and I love Takono's voice. Just dead panned and sounds like she really doesn't care some times. Besides that, the rest are ok, but little to no time is given to them, or they were spread out too much/came too late for me to care. Wanna to know another thing I don't care about? The intro song. Sounds a bit too bland for my taste. The ending is really good, though. As for the art style, I like it a lot. A bit more of a basic pallet really helps it it stand out, while at the same time, make it look like a general anime. Overall, I really enjoyed this anime. Good characters, good stories and I recommend it.
That's it for now! Expect an MHA review within the next few weeks! Thanks for reading, have a great day/night, share if it's not too much trouble for you, and take care. Written by Nana Marfo Tsuredure Children(C)ADK

My Hero Academia: First Impressions18/2/2018 *This is a wordpress repost* I didn't want to pick up any more anime, but my mind told me to not watch BlazBlue for a while. This one I had heard about, but knew nothing of, so I was completely blind for this one. Same Rules as last times, but for those who don't know: 1.Spoilers are abounding here folks. If you want to watch it blindly... go watch it. Spoilers are here. 2. Depending on the Anime, this can get NSFW. There is some strong language, but in the episode, it happens once. 3. I am watching the subbed version. Well, does the world of all heroes fair well, or end up in deep despair? This is my 1st impressions of My Hero Academia. "All men are not created equal." "This was the reality I learned about society at the young age of 4." "However, that was my first and last setback." Izuru Midoriya is a student who has always wanted to be a superhero, after seeing All Might, the number one hero save lives in a tragic incident when he was young. On his way to school, he catches a fight between a villain and a few heroes. Superpowers in this world are a common occurrence, and a Superhero is a common job, as they get paid by the government. In the fight, a rookie hero called Mt.Lady saves the day, and since she not seen her before, Izuru notes her down in his notebook. He's a fanboy, and this makes him relatable, but his back story is more tragic, but we will get to that. I love the theme song. The Day sounds amazing to open the show and it's done by Porno Graffiti, the same guys that did the 1st opening to the 2003 FullMetal Alchemist, and I love that as well. The intro is well animated, check it out ASAP. I love the effort the Japanese put into their intros for anime and Kamen Rider. Anyways, we then meet Katsuki Bakugo, a student that can use fire powers and want's to go to UA. Because of his quirk, he is able to burn certain objects and wants to surpass the highest paid hero. However, Izuru wants to be a hero, because of the highest paid hero, All Might. This is where tragic backstory kicks in, and boy is it tragic. Izuru was born without a certain toe joint, with makes him quirkless. This affects because he is not able to inherit his parents' powers or create a fusion of both. This was hard for him because he had only one dream; become a hero. He has the heart for it too, so, it's sad to see it go to waste. Speaking of which, I find it very enjoyable that the boy is the hyperactive one for once! Izuru is a good balance to my usual dose of Kamen Rider. Bakugo is the self-righteous prick which is enjoyable to see, and All Might is neat but he has little to no character in this episode. Overall Good. My first Shounen anime turns out to be a good one. Let me know what you guys think!

Animal Farm:Review16/2/2018 So the theme for my Graphics project is film, and I have chosen to do animation as a genre. I thought about doing film reviews for a while now, and I went to see this on Sunday, so I will give it a quick review. Just a heads, while I am using screencaps from the internet, I did go to BFI Southbank to watch this as part of their animation festiable. This is my review of Animal Farm. The has a very basic premise, but the meaning behind the story is what really matters in this case. The film is an adatation of George Orwell's book of the same name, which was a story about the Russian Reveolvultion. Now, I'm no historian, but looking at some of what these charaters repesent, it becomes more intreating. Old Major, calls a meeting with all the animals, and saying that then need to overthrow their tyrent farmer, Mr Jones. And what really peaks my interest is that Old Major repesents Karl Marx, the founder of Marxism. Marxism started in Russia. Think about that. Anyways, Old Major gives his last breath which allows him to them overthrow their farmer Mr.Jones. A pig named Snowball becomes the new leader of Animal Farm, and this allows them to set the new rules of Animal Farm. Over time, Snowball allows creates and equal society. However, Napoleon, a pig who is hungry pig for power, assassinates Snowball and becomes the new leader and becomes a dictator, who in the end is just as bad as the humans. The movie ends the same way it starts, as Napoleon is overthrown along with the pigs. In the book, however, the pigs turn into the humans in the eyes of the animals.
The story is basic, but again, if you understand the meanings behind the characters, it becomes more interesting. This is meant to be the Russian revolution retold. The movie it's self is animated very well for 1954. And it kinda reminds me a movie I am going to watch for this topic; Chicken Run. Makes me think of it after the ending if Ginger became a dictator. Overall, I liked the film, but it was a bit long for the story it was trying to tell. I could use this to focus on British animation, and look at smaller scale by smaller scale studios. Anyway, that is it for now! If your a regular reader, I'm sorry. This is very,Very different from what I do, but this more for a project. Thanks for reading, have a great day/night, and take care. So... I have some explaining to do. As most of you know, I am 16, in my first year of collage. I honestly want to study Game Development at University, rather than Computer Science, because I do have the skills, I do not see myself in that sort of environment, and it's easier to work for yourself as an artist making games, rather than a computer scientist making games. However, my are very much against this choice(they want me to study Computer Science), to the point where they will not sign any needed papers for me(and I was born very late in the school year, so by the time I turn 18, it will be WAY too late), and will not allow to take a gap year at all(despite them confusing me on what else to do).
So I need to start saving, and making my name known. All of the work I do is for free, and until I say otherwise, will be always free. However, I will be taking tips if you like my work. I want to start saving for Uni, as well as begin to take this more seriously. I don't want this to be just a hobby. I want this to be my life. So, if you want to, and if you can, please give me a tip via digital tip jar.
I can tips via Cards(I can't get PayPal or anything like this for the matter), and you don't have to donate, but even if you share any of my art, I do appreciate it.
Sorry for the short and sombre post today, but I have something good for you all tomorrow. Thanks for reading, have a good night/day and take care. Written by Nana Marfo(from the heart).

Hey everyone! Sorry for a lack of updates/reviews, but one has been stressing me for the longest time: The fighting game project. ONE.SMALL.BUG. That it is all that is in my way. It floats up when I don't want it to. That is the only thing. But still, I learned more about Mechiam in Unity. That what matters the most. In other news, I made a video for game works! This was really fun to make, as I wanted to do this for the longest time, and show off how I rig and animate! However, I have also been working on a game script based on an idea I have had for months. I won't say anything else. I also want to improve my photoshop skills, so I am going to be doing twitter banners for friends, and people I am huge fans of. Not a lot today, but due to a graphics project, there will be a lot of film reviews. So prepare for yourself! First up, Animal Farm.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Review26/1/2018 So I just finished Dragon Maid this week, and if we recall my first impressions post of it, I liked it. However, as we go through the show, does it get better or worse? Rules are the same as the first look, but please also note this is my opinion, not an unbiased review: 1.Spoilers are abounding here folks. If you want to watch it blindly... go watch it. Spoilers are here. 2. Depending on the Anime, this can get NSFW. 3. I am watching the subbed version. So, how good is a Dragon's antics? This is my review of Miss Kobayshi's Dragon maid. The story focuses more on an episodic structure, but for this shows it very much focuses on the character relationships, which is what makes this so heartwarming to watch. It's about Dragons trying to live in a human world, and humans who have had their lives flipped upside down. That being said, the human characters are a bit bland, and while they are meant to represent the viewer, that is not an excuse to be bland. Some of the dragons are underdeveloped as, and this leads me into a bit of a rant. Lucoa is the worst character in the show. She doesn't change at all in the course of the show, and her skit her trying to be accepted by a mage named Shouta. While it is funny, she doesn't really change at all, and if that is the case, then what's the point? She has no real reason to be there. Also the secret about how she was exiled(She is not a dragon, but an "Ex-Goddess") is not revealed. Disappointing! Anyway, Elma also lacks in character development, but I dismiss that to the fact she showed up at the halfway point. She gets 1 episode to herself, but that is more of a Thoru episode, in something that had been hinted at a few episodes before, but we'll get to that. She does act cute as a representation of the lone female worker(basiclicy a more lively Kobashchi). Fafinr is my favourate charater in the show, he doesn't get a lot of devlopment, but what he does get is heartwarming. He starts off very hostile, but he gets a place with Makoto. He is then transform into an gaming otaku that says "Maybe humans are not so bad". This line shows how far he has come as a character. He uses games to warm up to humans. Sure, a it's only one episode, but it's enjoyable. He also tries to sell curses in the fan service ... I am not kidding. Kanna is cute(No, I am not making the joke, I don't get it), but her character developmeny is a bit strange. She has a sort of relationship with Sayaka and their bonding is adorable, but I she doesn't really change as a character at all. However, I can forgive it, as I can tell her role was to have a good relationship with Sayaka, and act as Kobayashi's and Thoru's child. It feels nice to have a sort lesbian nuclear family. No, I don't watch yuri, I just got into anime! Speaking of, Thoru is Best Girl! She changes the most out of everybody in the show. At the start, she is a want to be human who falls into what she sees as a forbidden romance, as humans dragons are not really allowed to interfere with the afairs of humans. However, by the end she is a fun, bubbly young women, who has a real heart on for Miss Kobyashi. Looking at how she reacted when Georgie and Kobyashi were talking about maids(I won't spoil the story there for you), or when she was teaching Elma about how to be a human. Her wide range of emotions really help me get a grip on the character, and how she changes vastly. The ending theme is amazing. Ishukan Communication sums up the show perfectly. It's also up for an anime award, so VOTE FOR IT! The animation is a bit flatter in colour than some anime, but it looks cute, something which the flatter colour helps with.
Overall, I think this is an anime that everyone should check out. Decent story, Amazing characters, and catchy music. In other news, we are close to 250+ views in a week! Thank you guys sooo much! So, I have been testing renders with HDR lighting. I did 2 this past week, one of a Custom Tifa Model: (I copied a pose by Katuya Moonfox). This one I was not too happy with, as the lighting sort of failed in what it was suppose st to do, which was make a realistic setting. The light is over-exposed(though that may be because I had to move the HDR plane behind the focus, meaning it had to show), taking away from the model in focus. The Rig wasn't great either. I forgot to do the thumbs. That is someting you should never, ever do. Anyway, my big question is what is the best set-up for HDR lighting in Blender? My current setup is this: I have also been testing some ideas for a fighting game prototypes. I have been using a model of Yuffie from KH1(KH2 models don't like to work with my rigs for some odd reason). So far a few animation and technical scripting has been done, but it is no where ready to show to you guys yet. Anyways, that is it for now! I have exams at the start of the month next month, so I will be a little less active for a few days from then! Either way, thanks for reading, have yourselves a great day/night, share if it's not to much trouble for you, and take care. Aho Girl: Quick Look19/1/2018 So.. Thanks to a Youtube Clip, I learned about this show. However, the reason this is Under "Quick Look" is because there is no real story, and I feel it suits a quick look format better. As always, rules: 1.Spoilers are abounding here folks. If you want to watch it blindly... go watch it. 2. Depending on the Anime, this can get NSFW. This one has a lot of those moments, so be warned. 3. I am watching the subbed version. That being said, lets go Crazy. This is a quick look at Aho Girl. Story This is the main reason I want to make this a quick look, instead of a full on review. There is no real story, just a basic outline. Hanabatake Yoshiko is an idiot or as I like to call her, the women an iron skull, chases best friend(or best acquaintance, more on that in a bit) since childhood Akusu Akuriu, or A-kun. Along the way Yoshiko meets Sumino Sayaka, the voice of reason, The school President, who has a crush on A-kun after helping her fend off Yoshiko, Ruri, the not Yoshiko who does not want to be an idiot, Ryuuichi, a delinquent that Yoshiko befriends and few gal types have no real memorable interaction with Yoshiko. The exception to this rule is episode 12, which gives us some insight on how a lot what came to be happened. And to be honest, I kinda of blame A-kun. Don't get me wrong, Yoshiko read signals that she shouldn't have, but at the same time, you don't send those signals to an idiot!(Warning:The Image below may not be safe for work.) Still, I do think the treads they have for each episode is nice, and I do like the fact it focuses more on the Random Humour, which for a show like this, is it's biggest strength. Characters This is where the show shines through. Yoshiko is my favourite, because while she is an Idiot, she has just wants to have fun, and there are moments where she knows more than anyone around her. Moments where you could say: "Yoshiko said that." A-kun is a smart boy who ends up accidentally befriends Yoshiko, but he is an introvert/shut-in that really want to keep working harder. However, he has girls breathing down his neck all the time between Yoshiko, Sayaka(she just acts as moral support, she even says she is not ready for relationships) and the president. Not help things is the Yoshiko's mother, who is determed on having Yoshiko be with A-kun. Still, I like him. It's intesting to see how 10 years changed this guy, helping him to really speak up for himself. The last noteworthy character is Sayaka. She ends up befriending A-kun after finding out he has no friends(outside of Yoshiko). She is my second favorate, besides Yoshiko, because of the fact that she is so sweet and very forgiveing. How she puts up with all of them, I have no clue. Besides that, I don't really any of the others noteworthy. They are memorable, but not noteworthy. Looks, Music and Final Thoughts.
The anime looks good, but it's the first anime I have watched that looks like a typical anime. Not that is a bad thing mind you. The intro is great, Zenryoku Summer is a really nice and upbeat theme to start the show. The intro visual change every episode, so keep an eye out for that. The ending theme is also really nice. Odoro really feel likes a theme to carry me into the next episode. Overall, I can't recommend this to new anime fans, or as your first anime, just because I think that you need to know the craziness anime gets up to in order to understand it fully. However, as a new anime watcher, I can say I enjoyed it. That's it for now! Thanks for reading, have a great day/night, share if it's not to much trouble for you, and take care. Hey everyone! I have a few small things to share with you share. Firstly, I have a gamedev.net account! I will also be sharing some design things I have been doing for my personal brand, something which I want to expand in 2018. The plan is to have an OC, and a logo by the summer, something I am not comfortable with showing yet, because these are very early steps. I have also started taking work, in order to expand my skillset! Working on Models(even though I am not really comftable with modeling full yet) has really been satisfying! I will speaking about it more when I start to finish the models. I also will be entering the Fig Jam from the GDN network, so I hope to do even better than last time! I also have a new demo reel, and THE CHARACTER CONTROLLER IS FINISHED!!! Again, I will redo it for a better physics system, but I might use these scripts for the Fig Jam(need to know what the theme is). I also uploaded the Final Fantasy XIII traller I did! It's unfinished(Shortened and missing the end shot, which would have the cover art and the would say pre-order now), but I love the editing I did. The plan is in the description(as well as here), and once I render the box art, I will upload it! The wallpapers/key visuals are already in my works. Finally, last week on Sunday, we broke 200+ views in a week on the website. Thanks to everyone who read anything I posted, shared the site with their friends, anything like that. I am currently working on a special Photoshop.
Anyways, that is it for now! I have a few anime reviews lined up, and I will review Ex-Aid True ending when it comes out(Probably sometime next month). For now, thanks for reading, have a great day/night, share if it's not to much trouble for you, and take care. Recovery of an MMO Junkie:First Impressions27/12/2017 I have wanted to watch this one for the longest time. I did see it want to watch when it first came out, but Autumn is stressful for me with exams and starting school. However, I was hooked by the look of this one, due to the fact that is was about an MMO player, and how they interacted with people in real life. As always here are the rules: Well, let's see what the world of MMO's has to offer us. This is: Recovery of an MMO Junkie. I love the opening, Saturday Night Question doesn't feel like a J-Pop opening, which is it's biggest strength. The visuals themselves are hard to make sense of, but I like them anyways.(No links this time, the song is hard to find on YT.) "I'm not your average NEET schmuck." "I chose the NEET life" "I'm a elite NEET." Those are the words of Morioka Moriko, a thirty year old corporate drop out. For those not in the know, a NEET is someone in anime who is Not in Education, Employment or Training(Thanks Maku). Does bring into question how she is paying rent, but whatever. She has to find a new MMORPG to play because NanterSG has shut down and she finds a game called Fruits De Mur. Anyways, she makes a hot guy character. After getting her ass kicked, she meet a cute girl named Lily, who helps her with the missions(Don't worry, this is Yuri, we'll to get that soon) and some time passes to where she becomes skilled at the game, and ends up falling for Lily, to the point where she wants to get a gift for Lily. Nothing much else happens, however, where this shows shines is the moment to moment humour and character interactions. When I saw Hayashi interact with his guild, it felt like they were a family. Shows how games can bring people together, though I will knock MMO Junkie for the fact it doesn't real show the effect in the real world. I understand that this can be seen as bad pacing, but the show is only 10 episodes. However, the one scene we do get of Moriko going to a shop is really funny, where she is hungry for chicken, and gets in the funnest circumstance. I also don't talk about ending themes in first impressions(They don't play them, they either use the OP, or just let the show roll), but here they play one. Hikari,Hikari is such a good song. The visuals also complement the song so well, showing off characters we are going to meet along the way. Overall I am really looking forward to where this goes. Let me know what you guys think of the first episode in the comments below!

Kingdom Hearts II:Final Mix: Review18/12/2017 Ah, Kingdom Hearts, how I love you so. These game define my teen years, like Sonic defined my Childhood. And I know it's weird to start with the second game in the series, but I can't go back to 1. Man, that game has AGED. Anyways, here are the rules for game reviews: 1.Spoilers are abounding, and depending on the game, can spoil the experience. For RPG, I suggest you play them first. 2. I will not put aside any bias, but will try to be fair for games I do not like. This is my personal opinion. If you want to send your opinion, please do so in the comments below. That being said, this is my review of Kingdom Hearts II:Final Mix. Story I won't give too much away, but I really like the story. We meet Roxas in a digital simulation of Twlight Town(You will know about it if you played Chain of Memories), where Diz and Ansem(Riku) are trying to restore Sora's Memories from KH1. After they awaken. they go and meet Yen Sid, Sora gets new duds... which I don't like that much. I know people love this design. I do and the color scheme is great. but there are too many belts. Zips, I don't mind (I love Kairi's design), but the belts are too much. I prefer his Kingdom Hearts 3 design. Anyways, from there, we go to all sorts of worlds to find Riku, and save Kairi(Axel took her to Organisation XIII's dungeon). The story it's self is filled with twist and turns which will take Sora to fight Xemans and a reunion on Destney Islands. I love the experence that we get through the eyes of Sora. I don't really like bland character types, but here I think it works. He has been taken through hell and back, and his goal still remains the same. To save his best friends. The story however, can't be played standalone. KH2 needs you to play Chain of Memories and KH1, in order to understand what they are talking about in some instances. Gameplay For the sake of reader convice, I will say that Sora controls the same as in KH1, with tweaks to the Camera to map it to the right analog stick(thank god) and the fire magic is now a shield, something which I don't like unless I am in a Drive Form, more on that later. The worlds are more barren, meaning that the world is filled with enemies, which I prefer, but I want to see how KH3 handles it, since it's going open world. Anyways, back to the game in question. Like I said before, Drive Forms added are to the game and they give extra ablitys to Sora, while having some downsides. For example, Sora can hit harder in Valor Form, and is able to run faster, but he can not use magic. These forms also cost 1 or both of you're party members, who are not really that useful. YOU(Sora) are the most important force on the battle field, and I think the form that shows that is Final Form. While you have no party members with you, if you have Firaga, with Bond of Flame, you can DESTORY EVERYTHING. Talk about a game breaker. A good gamebreaker though, as bosses don't have a hard time against forms. Anti Form is punshment for transforming too much, but you don't need to worry too much if you have Final because that resets the counter. Overall Games like this make me sad I started with the Wii, because I missed out on Gems like these. Descent Story, fantastic Gameplay and a beautiful soundtrack. Hope you all enjoyed my first game review! Also a Dragon Maid review is on the way. Hope you all enjoyed you're Christmas, and have a very Happy New Year! Written by Nana Marfo

NM Game Works #03: MY FIRST GAME!!!17/12/2017 Hey everyone! I know said the project would be next, but I FINISHED MY FIRST GAME! It's called Dual In the Desert, and I made for the Game Dev Network's Big Festive Jam. He're a look of how I made it. I won't beat around the bush, I think I screwed up big time. The game if functional, but there is no end to it. The theme was surprise, so I trying to make a FPS, and try to make the surprise in that there is one stupid looking enemy. A big lesson I learned from this was to not over-extended yourself when working under a time limit. I knew how to create enemies with health, but I did not know how to make enemies follow you. I wrote my own script, but when I marked the player as a prefab instance, it didn't follow. This is the problem I was trying to fix most of the weekend. I fixed it.. but it was the middle of Sunday. I am still learning.
However, I can say I enjoyed this a lot, as it was fun creating games. In fact, I think I find more fun to create them than to play them. You can vote on it here: https://nana-marfo.itch.io/dual-in-the-desert And for the record, go all out on the critique. I know it's bad so my feelings won't be hurt. Anyways, that is it for today! The project will be next week, I promise. Here's another hint: "It happened before you were born". Thanks for reading, have a nice day/night, take care, and I will see you guys next time. So.... I missed the point of the pun last blog, which was I learned how to do shape keys in the eyes. Not much else to talk about, but I learn how to make a character move! Praise the Lord! After animating the Axl Model from Megaman X8, I managed to make it move in a scene. I need to work on a few things, such as the animations for running and jumping, but it seems good so far. As you can see from above, I am working on a 3D model, as I want to gain modelling skills. I also did some cool photoshops, as you can see here: I have more to show, but that might be up in the new year(I am doing it as part of the BTEC unit).
Finally, I am working on a marketing project in my own time I hope to have ready by Christmas! Won't spoil it for you, but let's just say... I have 3 strikes of Lightning. Thank you for reading, have yourselves a nice day/night, share if it's not trouble for you, and take care. New Game! Season 1: First Impressions13/12/2017 No real story for how I got into this one, but the idea was interesting at least. I know I am a year late, but I just got into Anime. Here are the rules again: 1.Spoilers are abounding here folks. If you want to watch it blindly... go watch it. Spoilers are here. 2. Depending on the Anime, this can get NSFW. I have a warning for an image I use, but you should be ok here outside of one scene. 3. I am watching the subbed version. Kamen Rider has got me used to reading subs off a screen, and I am sticking with that. This is my first impressions of New Game!Season 1. "It's Spring." "I've graduated high school, and I start my new job today." "I'm going to be working... at a game company!" "Today's the day I become an adult." We start off by watching Aoba Suzukaze, a high school grad, going to her first day working for Eagle Jump, a developer who made the Fairies Story games. Naturally, she is scared of going in to the company, and it takes one AD(Art Director, not Assistant Director) Toyama Rin to help enter. This feels relatable right off the bat. Why? First of all, she just finished school, meaning that is 18(this is also told to us later), so she is trying to put her foot in the industry. Secondly, working at any company for the first time is nerve-racking, so it makes sense that she would not want to work there. THE INTRO IS AMAZING AND I LOVE IT. Not just the song Sakura Skip, which is a great song in it's self, but the visuals really top it off, getting excited to watch the show. I loved how it started with the characters singing the song. I urge you to check it out here(sorry for the quality, it was the best I could find). Anyways, we go to the company and Aoba is introduced to her desk. She then asks for black coffee. Even as a coffee drinker, that is a bit much. Do you want to choke yourself from bitterness? Then again, I don't drink coffee that much, so maybe I am exaggerating a bit. Aoba wants to be seen as an adult and is glad that Rin seems nice but this is when things start getting fun and weird. (Warning: The image below may not be safe for work). You see the women in the pants with the blonde hair? That is Yagami Ko, or Yagami-sensei as Aoba calls her(See the metaphor?) who worked on Fairies Story 1 and 2. After a quick intro to the team, we learn she is the only new recruit this year. Knowing there is a season 2 of this, it would be interesting if the dynamic was Aoba teaching another new recruit. After being freaked out by the team around her, we meet Takimoto Hifumi, who has social anxiety problems. Somehow, I relate to more than one character now. Anyways more introductions! Hazuki Shizuku, the director of the game. Mozoku, the cat. Umiko, Shikuku's higher up,and has a small ball gun for anyone that pisses her off. Like I said Hifumi has social problems, meaning leading to some very funny interactions. Also, I know licences are weird, but Autodesk Saya? Just say Autodesk Maya. Aoba begins to learn fast on how to use Ma-Saya, and meets Ijima Yun and Shinoda Hajime over lunch. After some bathroom problems and a tea party, the end of episode reveals that they are work on Fairies Story 3, the original game that got Aoba into the industry. Aoba is amazing, and I like her already. She has character, and she fits into the team very well. However, we don't get plot threads to create an obvious arc for the season. I do think it will be more about Aoba in adult life. Seriously, the next episode is a drinking party, which I am looking forward to. Overall I enjoyed this episode a lot! I can't wait to see what will come next. Tell me what you thought in the comments below.

Start Your Story: Event Review6/11/2017 Hello, and welcome to my section of Event reviews! I will be going to events that have to do a career in Game Development. After approaching Bradford University at Create your Future, I got invited to an event, which I enjoyed. I have to say though, the panel was bad, but I do think that is down to the available time they had. The event hosted by Hannah Morrish from the Student Room, started with a video saying we should choose to go to Bradford University. It was a nice video. The panel involved Enzo Cilenti, Lisa Lambert, Carlton Reeve, Benson Taylor and Iki Ikram. The panel only had a few questions asked by both Hannah and the Audience, and even with the time constrates(one of the ghests got in Late), it felt very rushed. The networking part is where the event really shines. I spoke to Carlton and Iki, and the advice that they gave was good. I even managed to show Iki some of work and he gave me some critiques. This was my favourte part of the event because I finally got the advice I needed, such as working on timing. Overall, I would recommend this event to anyone who wants to be in the creative indesturies. They do give a lot of general advice, so if you want specific advice, this is not the event for you. However, if you need to bulid networks, see if you can get in for next year. Also, if you went to Create your Future, the pack given is the same. Sorry for the short review, in the middle of a Game Jam + School asessments, so I have to give somewhere. Thanks for reading, have a fantasic day/night and take care. YWritten by Nana Marfo

Hey everyone! Today I just want to talk about what have been doing in Blender and Unity. Sorry for the wait, but school has kept me really busy. The first thing is that I have been creating renders non stop. Blender is really easy to use if you just want to test 3D lighting. The program is harder to learn in other aspects, but I will get to that later. Anyway, the scene below used a model from The Model Resource. This is where I go to get all my models (I am only just beginning to learn modelling), and was HDR lit in Blender. I really don't like how the lighting came out, so I am taking a HDR lighting course on Udemy. In terms of Games, I have not really done much. I enter the GitHub game off, and that went really pear-shaped, due to me not planning my time, and my project crashing a week before the due date whlie I was away from home(long story, the flat needed repairs), so I gave up. Still it was fun, and I did learn a lot. I also want to work a lot more this month on what I am call "Project Cube Runner". I have been following Brackies tutorials for a while now, and used his "Creating Your First Game" series to create a auto runner/Dodge the blocks sort of game. I showed in my sort of Demo Reel, along with my first terrain environment(I did this while on an Udemy Course). For all this(and more), look at my works page, or below: That's it for now!

Sword Art Online Season 1: First Impressions22/10/2017 So.... I am really late on this... to the point where I think I will get mass amounts of hate. I heard of this series thanks to Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, and I thought "Why Not?" Before people say anything, I know of GAMERS! and NEW GAME!, I just haven't got around to them. Same rules as before: 1.Spoilers are abounding here folks. If you want to watch it blindly... go watch it. 2. Depending on the Anime, this can get NSFW. Just a heads up, but with this anime, you should be fine. 3. I am watching the subbed version. This is my first impressions of Sword Art Online. "In 2022, Humanity has created a fully virtual evori. We start in the year 2022 with a kid putting on a VR headset of some sort and logging in to the virtual world for a popular game call Sword Art Online, or SAO, presented by ARGUS. They have managed to create a virtual environment. It launched that day, however, the boy, named Kirito, was a beta tester, so he knows how the game works. Like with most anime, the intro is at the end the first time of airing. However, I feel I should talk about it now. I like it. Crossing Field is a nice song, that talks about the two main characters past(despite us not meeting Asuna in this episode, but I can say she is cute), haunted them and that they want to be together no matter what. Put song subs in videos, Crunchyroll! Fan subs do it , so why can't you? I still don't know what the Dragon Maid intro means. Still the intro has nice and flashy visuals, which I hope the series plays up. Anyways, we also meet Klein, a beginner who to know how to play the game, because he keeps getting his ass kicked or rather, his crotch kicked. However, Kirito teaches him the basics including motion input. It is nice to see Kirito teaching this, but isn't he on a bed? How is he moving? Anyways, lets get to the real meat of the episode. After Kirtrio describes the idea of the game, Klein realises that he can not log out. The two realise that this is problematic for games future, as well as the fact they can't move their real bodies(I guess that answers my question). Klein takes it well. Anyway, we already get our first bombshell of the show, where everyone is forced to teleport for a system annoncement. We learn from the Game Master Dan Ku- I mean, Kayaba Akiniko, that the game must be cleared before they can log out. This is an intresting concept, espally as a game dev, what if humans were left to surive in a real life MMO? And, like Kamen Rider Ex-Aid,if you die in the game, you die in real life. I'll speak about how Ex-Aid handled it later, but it is always intresting to think about. He also gives everyone mirrors, reverting everyone back to their true selves, as the Nervegear can read what you're face looks like. Imagine if the HTC Vive could do that. Anyways, Game Master says that he created the game to have a world and intervine in it, which has done, before ending the tutorial. Kirito and Klein part ways, and Kirito says he will survive in this world. A quick note on Kirtio, I think he is cool, but he says he feel more alive in SAO, rather than in the real world. I think this could lead to an intresting dynamic of him wanting to stay in this world, rather than to clear the game. Overall, good first episode. I can't wait to see what happens next. Let me know what you guys thought in the comments below.

*This is a WordPress repost* As much as I love Japan, for the games and joy it brings me in Sonic, Kingdom Hearts and Kamen Rider, I haven't watched an anime outside of Pokemon, and even then that is when it came on TV. Dragon Ball Z Kai was on Kiz, but when I saw the ads, I wasn't interested in the series. I started with FullMetal Alchemist, and BlazBlue: Alter Memory, but left them because I had exams to focus on. In between that period, thanks to cosplay of all things, I thought, why not see this. I watched the 1st episode on Friday, and I am here to give you my thoughts. 3 things: 1.Spoilers are abounding here folks. If you want to watch it blindly... go watch it. Spoilers are here. 2. Depending on the Anime, this can get NSFW. Knowing the characters(and having seen one scene out of context), were not at the worst of it yet for Dragon Maid, but just a heads up. 3. I am watching the subbed version. Kamen Rider has got me used to reading subs off a screen, and I am sticking with that. But OK then. Let's see what this Comedy/Slice of Live Anime has to offer. This is Mrs Kobayashi's Dragon maid. "Dragons." "The most powerful creatures there are." "An imaginary creation that breathes fire, flies, and sometimes uses magic." "Or....so I thought." A dragon flies right over to the door of Kobayashi-san's apartment and transforms into an adorable anime girl. Meet Tohru, and I will get into the characters later, but I love her already. The opening theme is kickass and the visuals match up so well.Watch the intro when you get the chance. Seriously, Aozora No Rhapsody (Blue Sky Rhapsody) Is great to listen to. I just want to know what the words mean, the subs I watch don't have a translation for the song lyrics. So, how did Dragon girl get here? Well, Kobayashi-san was drunk, stumbled upon Tohru in Dragon form, freed Tohru from her wounds from a fight in a different world(revealed at the end) and offered her a place to stay. I had to laugh here, people. I am easy to amuse. But why couldn't she just pass out? Anyway, she reluctantly agrees, and after a Maid training course, Tohru confesses her love for Kobayashi-san. Well, that was fast. This was a bit weird to me. Not that I'm against Lesbians or it was a WTF moment, it just feels a bit soon. However, I understand this is a 13 episode anime, so they have to rush things. Also, you met her drunk! But let nothing encapsulate my first WTF moment in anime than the bar scene. Not that it's a bad scene, I laughed all the way through it but OH MY GOD! We meet Makoto, Kobayashi's work colleague, who sees Kobayashi-san as "One of the guys", and is secretly an otaku. However, Tohru didn't get the memo that they are just friends, leading to a funny scene where Tohru wants to feed Makoto to the wolves, which is really good. Kobayashi-san is then shown to be drunk, and she and Makoto talk about maids, until she forces Tohru to STRIP NAKED. I kid you not that is what happens. Don't worry, this is not a hentai, and I was laughing my ass off because I am a big fan of random humour, but still, WTF? In terms of characters, Tohru is my favourite so far. Kobayashi-san, while interesting, comes off more as a yelling plank of wood who likes to drink, and likes being a loner. Makoto I can't judge yet because we know next to nothing about him, but he seems cool. Tohru is a ball of energy so far, and that is what makes her awesome so far. She has a love and will do whatever it takes to be with her. She looks cute, sounds cute, has a licking fetish, you see what I am getting at. She's a ball of fun, and very different to any sort girl in western cartoons, which I like. Overall, I like what I am seeing so far. Good Characters, nice fast pace and lots of fun.
